Cookies Policy

We use a small number of cookies to make this website work properly. Here is what they are and how to control them.

This page explains how Lightkeepers uses cookies and similar technologies, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR. For wider information about how we handle your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files that websites store on your device when you visit them. They help websites remember who you are and what you have done, so things work better when you visit again. Think of them like a notebook that keeps track of your preferences.

Similar technologies can include pixels, scripts, tags, local storage, or other tools that store information on, or access information from, a device.

Your browser lets you see what cookies are stored and delete them whenever you wish.

What cookies and similar technologies we use

We use only cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the Lightkeepers website to operate. These may be used to provide basic website functions, support security, or enable forms to work properly.

We do not use website analytics, advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, heatmaps, profiling tools, or behavioural tracking technologies on our website. We do not use these technologies for analytics, advertising, profiling, or behavioural tracking of any kind.

Consent and our position under PECR

Under PECR, websites must obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies or using similar technologies. Because we only use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the website to operate, we do not currently ask for cookie consent or display a cookie consent banner.

If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies or similar technologies in the future, we will update this page and ask for consent before using them where required.

Cookies, pixels and email

Our newsletter, Letters from the Lighthouse, is sent through Brevo. Our emails may contain tracking pixels and tracked links provided by Brevo. These are not website cookies, but they are similar technologies and may be covered by PECR where they access information from the device used to read the email.

We use this information to understand basic newsletter engagement, such as whether emails are delivered, opened, or whether links are clicked. We do not use this information for advertising or profiling. More information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Please note that if you disable strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the website may not work correctly.

Changes to this page

We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and similar technologies we use, or in data protection law. We will update the date below when we do.
